The Contender
Episode 13 - 05.15.05
Gomez vs Manfredo II
I know saying this isn't necessary but before anything I would like to apologize to my family. I know their hopes flew higher and higher as I got closer to the million dollars, but by losing all that hope shattered. I love them to death, and they have been so supportive before the contender and after. They are the best thing that has happened to me. Also, I want to thank all the fans for their unconditional support and love. I never expected to have so many people get my back even during defeat. Thank you so much.

Now to talk about the recap. Well, there isn't much to say. Being that there was only four of us, and each of us are gentlemen, there was no drama or hate in the house. Walking into Sly's office, we all knew what the matches were going to be. When Peter first came back in the house, on of the first things he told me was, "You gotta give me the rematch, bro!" and I told him that if he made it to the third round we would fight again. I am a man of my word and by us making it to The Final 4, "The Rematch" was a sure thing.

I have to tell you all that I gave it 110% against Peter and unfortunately for me, the judges saw him winning. I want to thank Peter because he helped me give some people the best fight they have ever seen. I'll talk about the fight against Peter in the other section. Right here I'm going to talk about after the fight heheheh In the locker room, the doctor gave me a check up and suspected that I had a broken jaw and broken cheek bone. So The Contender people took me to a hospital, but instead of taking me to the emergency room (where doctors are already on duty) they took me to the urgency room (where doctors are on call), so I had to wait for 2 hour for one to get there. During that time I was hurting so much that I puked and puked and puked. The nurse that was there said that she was going to give me a little morphine to ease the pain, but I'm thinking that they gave me a cheap brand because all it did was get me drugged up but the pain was still there. When the doctor go there, she had me take an MRI to check to see if I had any injuries, but fortunately I had NONE! It was just the swelling but nothing broken. When I got home I have to admit I was scared to go to sleep because I though that I might never wake up. It has happened before when someone gets hit too much. I got hit so hard by Ahmed that I nearly fainted after our fight and puked all night...and instead of resting like I do after every tough fight, I went back in the ring to get hit even harder by Peter 6 days later. Can someone take so much punishment and still wake up? I guess it is possible, because the next day I was joking and smiling and laughing and being my old self again. I even took an IQ and Neurological Test that I had taken before entering The Contender, and I did better. Which means I got smarter hehehehe

To Peter: Congratulations on making it to the Final match. I wish you all the best and God bless you.
